Mumbai: Will be able to sell SRA homes after 7 years, find out what new guidelines the Maharashtra government has made…?

The Cabinet had approved permission to sell SRA houses after 7 years instead of 10 a long time ago, but it hasn’t been implemented yet. Housing Development Minister Atul Save has assured lawmakers that they will soon enforce this. Additionally, Save has announced waiving service charges for 56 MHADA colonies. Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Prabhu raised this issue in the Assembly. On this matter, Yogesh Sagar, Ram Kadam, Varsha Gaikwad, Dr. Bharti Lavekar, along with other members, questioned the government. Varsha Gaikwad demanded that the permission to sell homes obtained under SRA be reduced from 7 years to 5 years. Currently, those who receive homes under the SRA scheme cannot sell them for 10 years. Their demand is for the government to create a rule allowing people to sell their houses after five years and new buyers to purchase them.

₹384 Crore Penalty Waived

Announcing the waiver of service charges for 56 colonies in Mumbai, Atul Save mentioned that this decision would provide relief to approximately 50,000 Mumbaikars living in MHADA colonies. A penalty of ₹384 crores on MHADA settlements will be waived off.
