Mumbai News: As per information from Eknath Shinde, a portion of the maintenance work on the Parle T.T. flyover, considered crucial, has been completed as part of the rehabilitation. Consequently, commuters can expect smoother travel.

Mumbai: A significant portion of the restoration work on the Parle T.T. flyover, considered essential among the important bridges in South Mumbai, has been successfully accomplished under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration. During a site visit amid heavy traffic, the State’s Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, directed immediate action to complete the necessary repairs. The instructions have been duly implemented under the BMC’s supervision.

The entire restoration work of the Parle T.T. flyover is managed by the Bridge Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. However, to ensure the comfort of citizens and ease of travel for motorists in Mumbai, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had earlier instructed for the expeditious repair of the roads connected to this flyover. These directions were given during his inspection time, directly advising the Municipal Administration. As a result, the repair work on both sides of the roads leading to this flyover began last week.

To prevent inconvenience to traffic, these actions were undertaken during nighttime. Iqbal Singh Chahal, the Commissioner of BMC, instructed the Bridge Department to carry out the repair work diligently and also directed for the leveling and smoothing of roads, according to Upadhyak (Basic Facilities). Vivek Kalyankar, Chief Engineer (Bridge), mentioned that the repair work on the Parle T.T. flyover was initiated under the supervision of Mumbai Traffic Police, for the convenience of motorists traveling towards Dadar and South Mumbai. Kalyankar provided information that further work will continue on the upper side of the Parle T.T. flyover once it is completed in Shivdi-Nhava Sheva Mumbai Trans-Harbor Road, ensuring smooth traffic flow. All necessary approvals from the Traffic Police Department for the entire restoration work of the Parle T.T. flyover have been obtained. Additionally, the Mumbai Traffic Police Department has granted permissions for the upcoming major works in the scheduled timeline, which will commence in a few days.
